Dearest Onkel Detlef,
One is never ready to say goodbye! And your departure was so sudden to us!

It seemed as if you would be visiting us many more times in India! So hard to accept it will not be so anymore! But we look forward to having Sandhya and Nukel taking over and continuing this beautiful friendship across the continents. Sandhya is family to us and hope she will come often!

Wanted to also say to you that your friendship with my parents was one of a lifetime! You and Tante Erika saw us through so many changes and yet the friendship continued to be solid. My Mama will miss you and Tante Erika!
